She’s desperate to revive her dead career, and Lindsay Lohan will try anything- including dropping her last name.

According to a report, the “Mean Girls” actress is going the way of such stars as Cher and Madonna, and will only be known by her first name.

Dina Lohan told press, “Lindsay is dropping the Lohan and just going by Lindsay. Plus, me and Ali will be officially changing our last names back to my maiden name, Sullivan.” An inside source added, "So many of the greatest people in showbiz are known by just their first name. Look at Oprah and Beyonce. Now you can add Lindsay to that list...And it's a way for them all to start over. No one in the family want anything to do with Lindsay's father [Michael Lohan] anymore and that includes sharing a last name."

Lindsay Lohan's Family Knicks Night Out

Stepping out for an evening of sport, Lindsay Lohan
was spotted at the New York Knicks basketball game last night (March 17).

The “Georgia Rule” actress was joined by her sister Ali
and brothers Cody and Michael Jr. as she made her exit from Madison Square Garden in New York City. In legal news, it seems Lindsay has once again shifted her defense in her grand theft case, having let go of her lawyer Keith Middlebrook.

A close friend told Radar, “Keith has been helpful thus far but the team feels he isn’t able to follow through in the way we had hoped.”

“As for the legal matters, he talked to the right people but unfortunately he has been unable to follow through on his original plan.”

Lindsay Lohan: NYC, Here I Come!

While she's been stuck in California by the court's order as of late, Lindsay Lohan has been granted permission to make her way out east to New York City.

The troubled "Georgia Rule" actress joined her mother, Dina, and little sister, Ali, as the trio were dropped off at LAX Airport by a chauffeured Cadillac SUV ahead of their departing flight on Sunday (March 13). Surrounded by photogs, Miss Lohan was dressed in a black jacket and grey tights as she toted a black and silver studded bag into the metro terminal to board an awaiting aircraft bound for the Big Apple.

Of the court decision allowing LiLo to travel to NYC, Dina Lohan excitedly told Radar Online, "We are all excited that the family gets to all be together in New York."

As for her legal proceedings, Miss Lohan has been granted the option of taking a plea deal on March 25th. If she opts to go to trial, Lindsay is slated to appear before the judge for a preliminary trial date on April 22.

Lindsay Lohan Goes to Court, Gets Preliminary Hearing Date

Her legal drama seems to be never-ending, and earlier today (March 10) Lindsay Lohan made her scheduled appearance at the Los Angeles courthouse.

The “Georgia Rule” actress was clad in a taupe colored leather dress as she headed inside along with her lawyer Shawn Holley to continue the proceedings regarding her grand theft charges.

During the hearing, Judge Schwartz set up yet another hearing for March 25th - at which Lindsay will have one last chance to accept a deal by entering a guilty or no contest plea. If she opts against doing so, the troubled actress' case will be passed on to Judge Sautner with a preliminary trial date having already been slated for April 22 at 9AM PT.

As previously reported by GossipCenter, LiLo is being accused of lifting a $2500 necklace from Kamofie & Company jewelry store, a clear violation of the terms of her probation.

Earlier this week, videos of Lindsay’s trip to the store were released and Holley says the footage contained therein is proof that Lohan isn’t a thief.

Lindsay Lohan: Gearing Up for Courtroom Showdown

On the eve of another courtroom hearing, Lindsay Lohan enjoyed her freedom with an afternoon out with sister Ali in Brentwood, CA on Tuesday (March 8).

The alleged jewelry thieving actress first visited a local medical building before grabbing a bite of sushi at Katsuya restaurant.

Due in court tomorrow (March 9) while facing felony grand theft and probation violation charges, LiLo's camp is hoping that the jewelry store owners' decision to sell surveillance tapes of the alleged crime to an entertainment news outlet ends up working in their favor.

Of the situation, Lindsay's mom, Dina, told Radar Online, "Once again, celebrities are faced with the possibilities of their normal daily activity being filmed and sold without their knowledge and their consent, and our family is looking into formal legal action."

Meanwhile, Mrs Lohan's attorney, Stephanie Ovadia, added, “I’ve been contacted by the family, and we are investigating the situation and looking into the unauthorized use of an image, invasion of privacy, unjust enrichment, and other possible legal avenues.”

Certainly not helping their case in the least, the prosecutors trying to get the "Mean Girls" actress locked up aren't all that happy over the selling of the in-store footage, as DA John Lynch said, "You like to present your evidence in the courtroom."

An inside source revealed that Lindsay dealt with her daddy issues a lot during her latest stint in rehab. "Lindsay blames a lot of her problems and issues on her dad. His name came up constantly. Lindsay has a lot of unresolved feelings and anger towards Michael."

Lindsay Lohan’s Surveillance Videos May Save Her

She has been adamant that she didn’t steal a $2,500 necklace from Kamofie & Company, and now surveillance video footage may vindicate Lindsay Lohan.

The “Mean Girls” actress has said all along that the necklace was on loan from the jewelry store while the store’s owner claims she lifted it.

But the video footage shows LiLo putting on the necklace and chatting with a friend and the owner to see if it looked good on her. And it wasn’t until 45 minutes had passed that Lindsay said goodbye to the owner (while still wearing the necklace) and then casually strolled out.

With this footage, it seems likely that Lindsay will be able to back up her story that the store lent her the necklace and that she wasn’t involved in any sort of theft.

he’s about to begin her trial for allegedly stealing a $2500 necklace, but Lindsay Lohan isn’t sweating it too much.

The “Mean Girls” actress appeared in a new video on the “Jimmy Kimmel Live” program in which she pokes fun at her legal woes.

Kimmel promotes a parody workout video called “Jimmy K’s Hottie Body Humpilates” including endorsements from babes like Jessica Biel, Minka Kelly, and Scarlett Johansson. At the end of the clip, Jimmy states it’s “so affordable it’s practically a steal,” after which LiLo adds, “Allegedly.”

Lindsay Lohan Seeks Advice from Former Attorney

Doing everything that she possibly can to avoid time behind bars, Lindsay Lohan ventured out to visit with her former lawyer, Blair Berk, in Beverly Hills on Thursday (February 24).

Joined by her mother Dina, the two ladies looked to be in high spirits as they popped into the legal office to discuss the "Mean Girls" star's upcoming hearing regarding her grand theft and probation violation charges.

As previously reported by GossipCenter, Lindsay entered a not guilty plea to the felony grand theft count and now has until March 10th to decide whether to accept a plea deal (and receive certain jail time) or take her chances by going to trial. According to TMZ, Miss Lohan was advised to lean on her former attorney by her current lawyer, Shawn Holley, as Miss Berk represented her in two DUI cases which led to the probation violation.

Lindsay Lohan's Post-Court Family Outing

Fresh off of a morning spent in the local courthouse, Lindsay Lohan was spotted sneaking out of her house in Los Angeles, California on Wednesday afternoon (February 23).

Joined by her mother Dina, the "Mean Girls" starlet took cover alongside her younger brother as the trio headed off to Whole Foods for their household shopping needs.

As for her court hearing, Lindsay ended up getting a continuance for a new date in front of the judge set for March 10th at 8:30 a.m. iss Lohan ended up getting a stern warning from Judge Schwartz, who told the troubled actress that he'll send her to jail if she enters a plea deal on the grand theft charges.

Schwartz told, "I don't care that you're Lindsay Lohan. One of the things about me is that I treat everybody the same. What I look to in sentencing is, 'What is the prior record?' In this particular case, there has been so much speculation in the press [that] I'm just going to tell you a couple of things: If you plead in front of me, you are going to jail. There might be an issue about the amount of time, but if the case settles here, you will be going to jail."

Afterwards, Lindsay seemed certain she'd be going to trial, as she continued to deny stealing the $2,500 necklace.

Lindsay Lohan’s Pre-Court Family Drive

Getting in some quality bonding time, Lindsay Lohan took her family for a drive around Santa Monica, California yesterday (February 22).

The “Mean Girls” actress was joined by her mother Dina, and siblings Ali and Michael Jr. as she tooled around in a shiny black Audi sedan.

LiLo’s family is in town because she has a hearing today for her alleged grand theft violation, as well as a probation hearing on Friday. And according to TMZ, the judge thinks Lindsay should do some time for lifting a $2,500 necklace and he will present her lawyer Shawn Holley with a plea deal involving a fine and a stay in the slammer.

Chances are, Lindsay will refuse the plea deal because she doesn’t want to go to jail for any length of time. But if she loses the case, she could end up in State Prison.

LINDSAY LOHAN BACK IN COURT

The case of the stolen necklace has landed Lindsay Lohan back in court. According to the police report, before trying on the necklace in question, she removed her own necklaces and put them on the counter.
“Ms. Lohan then proceeds to try on numerous rings and three different necklaces including the missing yellow diamond necklace.”

The police report goes onto explain that after shopping for some time. Lohan then put her own necklaces back on and left the store still wearing the missing necklace.

Apparently a similar incident happened at the same shop a few days prior. Lohan had nearly left the store wearing an expensive earring, almost leaving her own even more expensive pair of earrings behind. This could support her claim that it was all a misunderstanding. But the trouble is she didn’t return the necklace to the store upon realizing her ‘mistake’.
