Landing the role hundreds of hopeful girls were pining over, Jennifer Lawrence will star as the lead female in the upcoming movie “The Hunger Games.”
The “Winter’s Bone” actress is set to play Katniss Everdeen, a girl who joins a survival contest in order to save her community. Taking place in the future, teenagers are randomly chosen to participate on the TV show “Hunger Games,” which force them to compete to the death.
“The Hunger Games” is based on the best-selling book series and has been compared to the “Twilight” phenomenon.
